Mangaluru, Mar 26: NABH Certification course for quality managers and Gunavatta Yatra awareness programme was held on March 18 at Yenepoya Medical College Hospital, Mangaluru. The event was organized by Quality Council of India in collaboration with the hospital quality section – Yenepoya Medical College Hospital.
The programme began with a short introduction about the speakers followed by the inauguration ceremony. On this special occasion, Dr M S Moosabba, principal – YMC, Dr Santhosh Pai, HOD and professor department of nephrology – YMCH was present for the programme representing the medical superintendent of the hospital in his absence, Dr Janardhana Aithala, faculty from QCI and HOD and professor, department of orthopedics – YMCH, Aamrin Pagare, analyst NBQP – QCI and Dr Vijeta Thingalaya, quality officer, YMCH graced the inaugural programme of the event.

Dr Vijeta Thingalaya, quality officer welcomed the gathering, followed by a keynote address from Dr M S Moosabba. The speakers namely Aamrin and Dr Janardhana Aithala were given a token of appreciation.
In the 1st session there were total of 22 participants from various states and Dr Janardhana Aithala, faculty from QCI have spoken on the important modules of NABH entry level standards which included NABH application process, detailed requirements of Infection prevention and control programme, important policies and procedures and facilities from NABH to aid in the journey of accreditation.
In the 2nd session - Gunavatta Yatra, there were around 24 participants and session was initiated by Aamrin Pagare, analyst NBQP – QCI on brief note about the quality council of India and the session was continued by Dr Janardhana Aithala regarding the planning process for NABH assessment and brief on entry level standards. The participants enjoyed the sessions and appreciated the learning from them as well.
The collaboration with quality council of India through the training program benefited the Hospital to build a strong professional network by engaging with the stakeholders from various hospitals from many states and helped also gain exposure to a wide range of best practices and innovative approaches in healthcare delivery. Besides this, the collaboration with Quality Council of India gave the hospital an opportunity to be part of QCI’s flagship learning platform – Gunvatta Pathshala and in turn contribute to their vision of quality driven Viksit Bharat.
