Mangala College hosts blood donation camp, launches official website

Mangaluru, Apr 8: The Youth Red Cross Society Unit of Mangala College of Allied Health Sciences, organized a blood donation camp at Mangala College campus on April 7 in association with NSS and NCC Unit.

Dr J N Bhat, blood bank officer of Mangala Blood Centre (Storage Centre) Mangaluru, DK motivated students and delivered significance of blood donation.

Dr Ganapathi P, chairman and Dr Anitha G Bhat, vice chairman of Mangala Group of Educational Institutions were the first donors for inaugural ceremony.

An official website launch ceremony of Mangala Blood Centre was very special segment of today’s programme. This platform is expected to help the college to reach more donors, create awareness and strengthen its mission of saving lives.

Dean Prof Prathijna Suhasini G R of Mangala Group of Educational Institutions, Prof Subramanaya Nayak, principal of Mangala College and School of Nursing, Dr Bharath K H, principal of Mangala College of Physiotherapy, Prof Geethalaxmi IP, vice principal of Mangala College of Allied Health and Paramedical Sciences, YRCS unit officers Vijetha Sheena and Sharanya S Amin, NSS unit officer Mithun Venugopal A, associate NCC officer Lt Sakshi Shetty and Nagabhushan in charge of IRCS Blood centre, Mangaluru, and student volunteers graced the occasion. Around 81 donors donated blood voluntarily for this noble cause.
