Mumbai, Mar 9 (IANS): Actor-filmmaker Joy Mukherjee, who is on a ventilator at the Lilavati Hospital here, had special visitors on Holi. Bollywood's golden couple Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu, as well as composer Bappi Lahiri, paid him a visit.
"Dilip saab and Sairaji came to visit him (Joy) Thursday afternoon. Since he is still unconscious and on the ventilator, they sat for a long time chatting with his wife (Neelam Mukherjee)," the 73-year-old's spokesperson told IANS.
"Later, even Bappi-da came and sat for sometime," the spokesperson added.
The yesteryears star was admitted to the hospital Monday. His condition remains critical.
"Joy is running high fever, he is still unconscious and his overall condition is still critical. Six doctors are working on his health," said the spokesperson.
Mukherjee stepped into showbiz with 1960 hit film "Love In Simla". His popularity soared with projects like "Shagird", "Love In Tokyo", "Ziddi", "Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon" and "Ek Musafir Ek Hasina".
Mukherjee comes from a film family -- his father Sashadhar Mukherjee, who was married to legendary actor Ashok Kumar's sister Sati Devi, was the co-founder of Filmalaya Studios. He is the paternal uncle of actors Kajol and Tanisha Mukherjee.
Joy and Neelam Mukherjee have three children - two sons and a daughter.
