Dharmasthala mass burial case: SIT seizes Girish Mattannavar’s old mobile phone

Beltangady, May 8: In connection with the alleged mass burial case reported from Dharmasthala village, Girish Mattannavar appeared before the SIT office in Beltangady on Thursday, where officials seized his old mobile phone as part of the ongoing investigation.

According to sources, the SIT had earlier issued a notice directing Mattannavar to hand over his old Android mobile phone for forensic examination.

Following the notice, he arrived at the Beltangady SIT office around 11 am and submitted the device to the investigators. The SOCO team reportedly took possession of the mobile phone and conducted the required mahazar procedures, sources added.

The investigation into the alleged case is continuing under the supervision of the Special Investigation Team.
