Udupi: Woman killed, another injured after car rams pedestrians near Uchila Mahalakshmi temple

Udupi, May 9: In a tragic road mishap reported near the Uchila Mahalakshmi temple on Friday night, a woman lost her life after a speeding car allegedly rammed into two women who were waiting to cross the road.

The deceased has been identified as Mamata (40), a resident of Sasthana. According to reports, the two women were standing near the divider on the highway, preparing to cross the road when the car hit them.

Mamata sustained grievous injuries and died on the spot. The other injured woman was rushed to a hospital in Udupi for treatment.

Padubidri police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
