Kolkata, May 11: The Bharatiya Janata Party is set to implement one of its key election promises in West Bengal by launching a monthly financial assistance scheme for women from June 2026, according to reports.
The scheme, named “Annapurna Bhandar”, will reportedly provide Rs 3,000 every month to eligible women beneficiaries across the state.
The move comes after the BJP registered a massive victory in the recently concluded West Bengal Assembly elections, winning 206 seats in the 294-member Assembly and comfortably crossing the majority mark.

The party ended the long-standing rule of the All India Trinamool Congress and defeated party chief Mamata Banerjee.
According to reports, the scheme was one of the BJP’s major poll promises aimed at women voters in the state.
Further details regarding eligibility criteria, implementation procedures and budget allocation are expected to be announced by the newly formed government in the coming weeks.
