Woman allegedly gangraped inside private bus in Delhi; driver, conductor arrested

New Delhi, May 14: A 30-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped by two men inside a private bus in the national capital on Monday night, police said.

Based on the survivor’s complaint, Delhi Police registered a case and later arrested both accused, identified as the bus driver and conductor.

Police also seized the bus allegedly used in the crime.

According to reports, the incident took place in the Rani Bagh area of Delhi. The survivor, a daily wage labourer working at a factory in Mangolpuri, is a resident of a slum cluster in Pitampura.

The woman alleged that she was waiting near Saraswati Vihar to board a bus when the two men forcibly pulled her inside the private bus and sexually assaulted her.

Following her complaint, the woman underwent a medical examination, which reportedly confirmed signs of sexual assault.

Police said both accused were arrested from the location where the incident allegedly took place. Further investigation is underway.
