Firozabad, May 22: Two persons were killed and around two dozen passengers injured after a private sleeper bus collided with a tanker and caught fire on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad district.
The accident occurred near pillar number 46 under the limits of Matsena police station when the bus, travelling from Kanpur to Gurugram, rammed into the tanker. The impact of the collision was reportedly so severe that the bus burst into flames shortly after the crash, triggering panic among passengers.

According to officials, the bus driver and conductor died in the incident, while several passengers suffered injuries of varying severity.
City Magistrate Vinod Kumar Pandey confirmed the accident and said rescue and relief operations were launched immediately after the incident. The injured passengers were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Police and emergency personnel rushed to the spot and managed to bring the fire under control. Further investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
