Sutra Soundaryam returns to Mangaluru with grand handloom expo

Media Release

Mangaluru, May 22: Celebrating the timeless beauty of Indian craftsmanship, Sutra Soundaryam, a grand handloom and handicraft exhibition organized by Smart Art Events, has returned to Mangaluru for the third consecutive time. The much-awaited 10-day exhibition is currently underway at TMA Pai Hall from May 22 to 31, bringing together artisans, weavers, and creators from different corners of the country under one roof.

Known for curating authentic and culturally rich exhibitions across India, Smart Art Events continues its mission of promoting India’s traditional art forms and empowering local artisans by providing them a direct platform to connect with customers.

This edition of Sutra Soundaryam features around 60 stalls with artisans and exhibitors from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, and several other states, each bringing their region’s signature craftsmanship and heritage collections.

Visitors can explore an extensive range of handloom sarees including elegant Kalamkari, timeless Jamdani weaves, cottons, silks, designer drapes, handcrafted dupattas, ethnic jewelry, traditional footwear, and artisanal accessories. The exhibition also showcases beautifully curated home decor collections, bed sheets, bedspreads, handmade furnishings, and lifestyle products that reflect India’s diverse artistic traditions.

One of the major highlights of the exhibition is the presence of live artisan counters, where visitors can witness traditional craftsmanship and handmade artistry unfold in real time — a rare opportunity to experience the skill, patience, and cultural stories woven into every creation.

With growing appreciation for sustainable fashion, handmade products, and indigenous crafts, Sutra Soundaryam aims to create awareness about India’s rich textile legacy while supporting the artisan community and preserving traditional craftsmanship for future generations.

The exhibition is open to the public daily at TMA Pai Hall, Mangaluru, and promises a vibrant shopping and cultural experience for art lovers, fashion enthusiasts, homemakers, and anyone who appreciates authentic handmade creations.
