New Delhi, May 25: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is set to take over the investigation into the death of actor and model Twisha Sharma, with the agency already dispatching a team to Bhopal.
Officials said the CBI will assume charge of the case from the Madhya Pradesh Police and collect all evidence and documents linked to the investigation.
Twisha Sharma was found hanging at her marital home in the Katara Hills area of Bhopal on May 12.

Hearing the matter on Monday, a Supreme Court bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi said the court would ensure a fair, independent and impartial investigation into the case.
Police had earlier registered an FIR under Sections 80(2), 85 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita along with relevant provisions of the Dowry Prohibition Act against Twisha’s husband Samarth Singh and Giribala Singh.
The apex court also took note of the Solicitor General’s submission that he would speak to the concerned authorities to ensure the CBI immediately takes over the probe.
“We would like to impress upon the family members of the victim as well as the accused that instead of making statements in public or before media platforms, they should get their versions recorded before the investigating agency so that no prejudice or adverse impact is caused to the ongoing investigation,” the bench observed.
The family of the 33-year-old actor has accused her in-laws of driving her to death, while the in-laws have alleged that she was addicted to drugs.
