Panaji, May 27: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall across Goa over the next four days, signalling a significant increase in pre-monsoon weather activity in the coastal state.
According to the latest IMD bulletin, Goa, along with neighbouring Kerala and Karnataka, is likely to experience intense spells of rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning during this period.
Weather officials have warned that persistent heavy showers could lead to localised waterlogging, poor visibility, and disruptions in low-lying areas. Residents have been advised to remain cautious, particularly during periods of intense rainfall and thunderstorm activity.

Apart from Goa, the IMD has also predicted light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning across several other regions, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Lakshadweep, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry over the coming four days.
Goa has already witnessed intermittent pre-monsoon showers in isolated areas over the past few days, bringing temporary relief from humid conditions.
Meanwhile, the Goa Meteorological Centre has issued a Yellow Warning for Wednesday, urging people to stay alert for sudden weather changes and possible heavy rain spells in parts of the state.
