New Delhi, May 28: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday acknowledged discrepancies reported in the Central Board of Secondary Education’s (CBSE) On Screen Marking (OSM) evaluation system and assured students that corrective measures would be taken.
“I take responsibility for the discrepancies caused. These issues will be rectified and appropriate steps will be taken. I can assure students that no single query will go unanswered or unresolved,” Pradhan said.

According to the minister, around 17 lakh students appeared for the examinations this year and nearly 98 lakh answer-sheet copies were processed through the OSM system for the first time.
He said each answer sheet contained nearly 40 pages, resulting in almost 40 crore scanned pages being evaluated digitally by CBSE.
Meanwhile, CBSE dismissed claims circulating on social media alleging that its On Screen Marking system had been hacked.
The Board clarified that the allegations were based on misinformation and did not relate to the actual platform used for evaluating answer sheets.
CBSE stated that the operational evaluation portal runs on a separate secure URL and that no security breach had been detected in the live system used for marking answer scripts.
According to the Board, confusion arose between the testing environment and the actual evaluation platform, which are completely separate systems.
CBSE further said the OSM system was introduced to improve transparency and efficiency in the evaluation process and assured students that proper grievance redressal mechanisms are in place.
The Board reiterated that robust security measures continue to protect the integrity of its examination and assessment systems.
