Margao, May 30: The Colva Police have registered a theft case against three individuals in connection with the alleged theft of gold jewellery worth approximately Rs 13 lakh from a luxury resort in Cavelossim, South Goa.
According to police sources, the complaint was lodged by Rajyesh Kumar Patni, a resident of New Delhi, who reported that the incident occurred on May 11, 2026, at around 11.30 a.m. at a star-category hotel in Cavelossim.
Investigators said the accused—residents of Assam, Mormugao, and Khanapur in Karnataka’s Belagavi district—are suspected of stealing gold ornaments weighing between 80 and 90 grams.

Preliminary inquiries revealed that the jewellery was inadvertently left behind in the hotel room by the complainant’s wife during the checkout process. The ornaments were later found to be missing, prompting a police complaint.
Based on the complaint and subsequent investigation, Colva Police registered a case against the three accused and launched efforts to trace the missing valuables and establish the exact sequence of events surrounding the alleged theft.
Police officials said further investigation is underway, including the examination of hotel records, CCTV footage, and statements from persons connected to the case.
Authorities are working to recover the stolen jewellery and determine the role of each accused in the alleged offence. Further details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
