Mumbai, May 31: The controversy surrounding the upcoming film Don 3 has intensified, with reports claiming that actor Ranveer Singh made an unsuccessful attempt to repair his strained professional relationship with filmmaker Farhan Akhtar amid an ongoing legal dispute.
According to media reports, Ranveer recently approached Farhan with a proposal to collaborate on another film that would be mutually selected by both parties. The actor reportedly also expressed willingness to work with filmmaker Zoya Akhtar, with whom he previously delivered the successful film Gully Boy.
However, the proposal was reportedly rejected by both Farhan and his production partner Ritesh Sidhwani. Reports suggest neither Farhan nor Zoya is currently interested in collaborating with Ranveer.

The dispute stems from Ranveer's reported exit from Don 3. According to reports, the actor stepped away from the project due to concerns over the absence of a finalised script and delays in the production timeline.
Following the alleged withdrawal, Farhan and Ritesh's production banner, Excel Entertainment, is said to have initiated legal proceedings seeking damages of Rs 45 crore from the actor.
The controversy has also attracted the attention of industry bodies. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has reportedly issued a non-cooperation notice against Ranveer and escalated the matter by approaching the Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association (IMPPA) and the Producers Guild of India.
Industry sources indicate that beyond resolving the current dispute, the organisations are examining ways to establish clearer contractual guidelines for actors and producers to prevent similar conflicts in the future.
With legal action underway and major film bodies becoming involved, the Don 3 dispute has emerged as one of the most closely watched controversies in the Hindi film industry, with potential implications for future professional agreements between actors and production houses.
