BJP organises state-level viewing of PM Modi’s 134th ‘Mann Ki Baat’ at Udupi diocese Pastoral Centre

Udupi, May 31: The live broadcast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 134th edition of 'Mann Ki Baat' was officially viewed at the ‘Anugraha’ Udupi diocese Pastoral Centre in Kakkunje, Udupi.

The programme was organised by the BJP Udupi district unit under the leadership of district BJP president Kutyaru Naveen Shetty and coordinated by the BJP Minority Morcha. The event witnessed the participation of priests from various churches, nuns, and prominent members of the minority community.

Among those present were MLAs Suresh Shetty Gurme, Kiran Kumar Kodgi and Gururaj Gantihole; MLCs Dr Dhananjaya Sarji and Kishore Kumar Botyadi; former divisional in-charge K Uday Kumar Shetty; BJP Minority Morcha State president Dr Anil Thomas; District Minority Morcha president Rudolph D’Souza; state secretary Jesel D’Souza; BJP Mahila Morcha state general secretary Shilpa G. Suvarna; former National Commission for Women member Shyamala S Kundar; Mann Ki Baat District convener Shivakumar Ambalpady; and several other party leaders and office-bearers.

Religious leaders including Fr Francis Lewis, rector of Milagres Cathedral Kallianpur, Fr Vincent Crasta, director of the Pastoral Centre, Fr Reginald Pinto, convener of Sampada, and Fr Sunil of Sastan Church, along with several priests and nuns, also attended the programme.

The gathering further included Catholic Sabha Udupi District president Melwyn Aranha, District Raitha Morcha president Kamalaksha Hebbar, former Udupi City Municipal Council president Prabhakar Poojary, community leaders Saleem Ambagilu, Harish Shetty Cherkady, Balakrishna Shetty, Harish Shetty, T G Hegde, Giridhar Acharya, and Minority Morcha office-bearers including Sheikh Asif, Mohammed Afsar, Michael D’Souza, Glen Monis, Naveen D’Souza, Noel Manipal, Johnson Kallianpur, Joel Mendonca, Anita Belinda D’Souza, Sunita D’Souza and Ijad Karkala.

A large number of BJP functionaries from different levels and prominent members of the minority community participated in the event and watched the prime minister’s monthly radio address.
