MRPL organises tree plantation drive to mark World Environment Day

Mangaluru, Jun 5: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) in association with Karnataka Forest Department (KFD) Mangaluru, organized tree plantation drive on June 3rd at MRPL, as part of the World Environment Day celebrations-2026 and ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign.

The event was graced by Shashikanth S Vibhothi (IFS), assistant conservator of Forests Mangalore Subdivision; Rajesh Baligar, range forest officer Mangalore Range; Shravan Kumar Nalwad, deputy range forest officer Surathkal section; and Gangadhar Nanvi, beat forest officer Surathkal beat.

The programme was honored by the presence of Mundkur Shyamprasad Kamath, managing director; Nandakumar Velayudhan Pillai, director (Refinery); Devendra Kumar, director (finance) & CFO; N Anandha Kumar, executive director (refinery); Deepak Prabhakar P, executive director (marketing & business development); and P Sujith, executive director (projects). Active participation of group general managers, chief general managers, general managers and senior officials from MRPL in this meaningful initiative inspired everyone to take positive steps towards protecting Mother Earth and promoting a sustainable, greener future.

MRPL employees, officials from KFD and secondary work force were actively involved in the plantation. Each sapling planted symbolizes a commitment to a healthier ecosystem. This green initiative reflects MRPL’s ongoing efforts to promote biodiversity, foster environmental awareness, and contribute meaningfully to ecological conservation for a better tomorrow.
