New Delhi, Jun 7: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday alleged that crores of rupees received as donations at the Ram Mandir are unaccounted for and called for judicial intervention into the matter.
In a post on social media platform X, Yadav described the issue as a matter of deep concern for devotees of Lord Ram across the world. He claimed that a substantial amount from the offerings made at the temple had reportedly gone missing and questioned the absence of any official clarification.

Calling the development a serious setback to public trust, the SP chief said the temple trust should provide a transparent explanation regarding the alleged discrepancy. He further stated that the matter concerns the faith of millions of devotees and therefore warrants an impartial investigation.
Yadav urged the judiciary to take suo motu cognisance of the issue, arguing that it is directly connected to the religious sentiments of the global Sanatan community. He also criticized what he termed the government's silence on the matter, describing it as suspicious.
Earlier, Nripendra Mishra had stated that more than ?3,000 crore had been contributed by devotees for the construction of the Ram Temple. According to him, the overall cost of the project is estimated at around ?1,800 crore.
The idol of Ram Lalla was consecrated at the temple in January 2024, marking a major milestone in the project. In November 2025, Narendra Modi ceremonially hoisted the flag atop the temple's shikhara on the traditional occasion associated with Lord Ram's wedding.
During a media interaction in March, Mishra stated that the construction work of the temple had been completed and that the committee was focused on resolving compliance-related issues, including vendor payments and documentation requirements. He noted that nearly 50 matters were under review, with the objective of ensuring all procedural requirements were addressed within the stipulated timeline.
As of now, no official response regarding Yadav's allegations has been detailed in the statement.
