Valpoi, Jun 12: The newly constructed Divisional Agriculture Office building in Valpoi will be inaugurated on June 13 at 11 am by Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Pramod Sawant.

Health Minister Vishwajit Rane and Poriem MLA Deviya Rane will also be present at the inaugural function.

The inauguration was originally scheduled for May 22 but was postponed due to unavoidable circumstances. With the project now completed, farmers in Sattari are set to benefit from improved infrastructure and enhanced agricultural services.

Sattari, a region known for its strong agricultural activity, relies heavily on the Divisional Agriculture Office for implementation of government schemes, farmer documentation and agricultural extension services. The earlier office had been functioning with limited space and ageing infrastructure, leading to long-standing demands for a modern facility.

The project was taken up following efforts by Health Minister Vishwajit Rane and received approval from the Agriculture Department. Construction began nearly four years ago and was completed after overcoming initial delays.

The new building features a fully equipped hall for training programmes, seminars, workshops and farmer awareness sessions. It will also serve as a venue for exhibitions and activities aimed at promoting modern farming practices and increasing awareness of government initiatives.

Divisional Agriculture Officer Vishwanath Gawas said the new facility would enable the department to provide more efficient and effective services to farmers across the Sattari region.
