Lucknow, Jun 12: An IndiGo flight bound for Delhi was delayed at Lucknow airport on Thursday after a bomb threat note discovered inside the aircraft triggered a security alert. Authorities later confirmed that the threat was a hoax.
The IndiGo flight 6E2111 was scheduled to depart for Delhi at 10.45 am with around 180 passengers on board. Shortly before take-off, a handwritten note on a tissue paper claiming that a bomb was present on the aircraft was found inside one of the lavatories.

Following the discovery, airport authorities and security agencies were immediately alerted. In line with standard safety protocols, all passengers were deboarded and moved to a safe location while security personnel conducted a comprehensive inspection of the aircraft.
After an extensive search and investigation, officials found no suspicious object on board and declared the bomb threat to be false. The flight's departure was delayed due to the security procedures.
Authorities have launched an investigation to identify the individual responsible for writing and leaving the threatening note.
The incident comes a day after a similar security scare involving an IndiGo flight at Kannur International Airport in Kerala. A note discovered in a lavatory waste bin on a Mumbai-Kannur flight prompted emergency security measures after it was initially interpreted as a bomb threat.
The aircraft was moved to an isolation bay upon landing, and bomb disposal and sniffer dog squads carried out detailed checks. However, police later clarified that the note did not contain a bomb threat and had been misinterpreted by the cabin crew.
Both incidents have prompted heightened vigilance by aviation security agencies, although no explosives or security threats were found in either case.
