Vijayawada, Jun 19: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday filed a charge sheet against a second accused in a 2025 Andhra Pradesh case involving the recovery of explosives allegedly intended for use in terrorist activities.
In a charge sheet submitted before the Special NIA Court in Vijayawada, the agency named Shaik Mansoor, also known as Mohammed Ali and Vijayakumar, under various provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), 1967, and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.

According to an official statement, Mohammed Ali was a close associate and alleged co-conspirator of Shaik Amanulla, alias Abubakar Siddique, who had already been charge-sheeted earlier in the investigation.
The NIA said Mohammed Ali was arrested in December 2025, taking the total number of arrests in the case to three.
The agency had previously filed a charge sheet against Shaik Amanulla in February 2026. During the investigation, explosives and other incriminating materials were recovered from Amanulla's residence.
Investigators revealed that Mohammed Ali had been living under a false identity after allegedly absconding from Tamil Nadu in connection with a 1999 bomb blast case.
He was reportedly residing in Rayachoty town in Andhra Pradesh's Annamayya district under the assumed name of Shaik Mansoor and had obtained government identity documents through fraudulent means.
According to the NIA, Mohammed Ali had been radicalised, recruited and trained in bomb-making by Amanulla.
The investigation further alleged that he assisted Amanulla in transporting explosives to a hideout in Rayachoty.
The agency claimed that the accused had conspired to carry out targeted killings of leaders belonging to a particular community with the intention of spreading terror and advancing an agenda aimed at establishing Sharia law in India.
The NIA, which took over the case from the Andhra Pradesh Police, said the investigation remains ongoing.
Officials added that additional charge sheets may be filed in the future if further evidence emerges during the course of the probe.
