Srinivas University, Institute of Aviation Studies celebrates International Yoga Day

Mangaluru, Jun 20: The Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University, celebrated International Yoga Day on June 19, with great enthusiasm to promote physical fitness, mental well-being, and the importance of adopting yoga as part of a healthy lifestyle.

The programme was organised in association with Decathlon under the guidance of Dr Pavithra Kumari, dean, Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University, along with the support of the SWO, HODs, NSS coordinators, faculty members, student coordinators, volunteers, and staff members of the Institute of Aviation Studies.

The programme began with a welcome speech. The celebration featured three yoga sessions led by Sanvi Shetty, executive at Decathlon Mangaluru and a trained yoga coach. She guided the students through various yoga postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques aimed at enhancing flexibility, concentration, mental clarity, and overall well-being.

Around 165 students from the BBA Aviation Management and BBA Aviation and Logistics Management programmes actively participated in the sessions.

The event witnessed enthusiastic involvement from students, student coordinators, volunteers, of the Institute. The sessions emphasised the significance of incorporating yoga into daily life to maintain physical health, reduce stress, and achieve a balanced lifestyle.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks to Sanvi Shetty for her valuable contribution and to Decathlon for their support in making the celebration successful.

The International Yoga Day celebration at the Institute of Aviation Studies served as a meaningful initiative to encourage students towards mindfulness, fitness, and holistic well-being.
