Mangaluru, Jun 20: Holy Family English Medium School, Surathkal successfully organized its Parent–Teacher Meeting on June 20 at Sacred Heart Church Sabha bhavan, Surathkal.
The programme commenced with a prayer song led by the teachers, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The dignitaries present on the dais were Fr Austin Peter Peres, joint secretary of the school; Dr Ganesh Amin Sankamar, educationist and Tulu folklore artiste; Fr Stany Pinto, headmaster; George Ligory D’Souza, vice president of the Parish Pastoral Council; and Anjan Kumar, PTA vice president (2025–26).

The resource person, Dr Ganesh Amin Sankamar, delivered an insightful talk on the topic ‘The role of parents in their children’s education.’ He emphasized the importance of active parental involvement, encouragement, and guidance in shaping the academic and personal growth of children.
As part of the programme, 80 SSLC distinction holders of the 2025 examination were felicitated for their outstanding academic achievement.
During the programme, Ethan Lael Periera, the SSLC 2025 top scorer, shared his views and inspired the gathering by speaking about the importance of hard work, discipline, regular study habits, and the constant support of parents and teachers in achieving academic success.
The outgoing PTA vice president Anjan Kumar was also felicitated in appreciation of his dedicated service. The newly elected PTA representatives were congratulated.
Addressing the gathering, Fr Austin Peter Peres remarked, “School gives education, home gives culture, and the bond between these two creates a good society”. He encouraged parents and teachers to work together in nurturing responsible and compassionate citizens.
Fr Stany Pinto, headmaster, addressed the parents, shared important guidelines for the academic year, and expressed his sincere gratitude for their continued cooperation and support towards the school’s progress.
The programme was compered by Gulabi, Soujanya welcomed the gathering, Hilda D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
