OpenAI appoints Prabhjeet Singh as India Managing Director

New Delhi, Jun 27: OpenAI has appointed Prabhjeet Singh as its Managing Director for India, the company confirmed on Friday.

Singh, an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur and IIM Ahmedabad, will be the company’s senior-most leader in India and will oversee consumer growth, enterprise adoption, strategic partnerships, regulatory engagement and operations.

As part of his new role, Singh will focus on building partnerships, strengthening India’s artificial intelligence ecosystem and helping consumers, businesses, institutions and government bodies leverage the benefits of AI, according to an OpenAI spokesperson.

The appointment comes as part of OpenAI’s continued expansion and investment in India, which the company considers one of its key priority markets.

Singh previously served as President of Uber India and South Asia, where he led the company’s mobility operations across India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
