London, Jun 28: A 25-year-old student from Telangana, who had travelled to the United Kingdom for higher studies 14 months ago, was found dead in his room in London on June 23, leaving his family in deep shock and seeking clarity over the circumstances surrounding his death.

The deceased has been identified as S Srinath Reddy from Talamadla village in Tadvai mandal of Kamareddy district, Telangana. His family has appealed to the Central and Telangana governments to intervene and assist in bringing back his mortal remains to his hometown at the earliest.

Srinath’s father Madhusudhan Reddy expressed grief over the loss of his son and said the family is yet to receive complete information regarding the incident. He urged the authorities to coordinate with British officials and help ascertain the actual circumstances that led to his son’s death.

According to the family, Srinath had attended a friend’s birthday party in London on the night of June 22. His father said that Srinath spoke to them over the phone on the same night and appeared cheerful and normal, giving no indication that anything was wrong.

A relative of the family, whose son is also staying in London, said Srinath’s roommate found him dead the next morning. The roommate reportedly informed that Srinath had died by hanging.

The relative further alleged that the roommate did not immediately inform Srinath’s friends about the incident, raising doubts and questions among the family members over the delay in reporting the matter.

London police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the student’s death.

The sudden demise of Srinath Reddy has left his family and the residents of Talamadla village mourning the loss of a young student who had gone abroad with hopes of building his future.
