Bhopal, Jun 30: Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Monday launched 950 MW capacity solar power projects in the state, marking a major push towards renewable energy expansion.
The projects include a 500 MW solar park in Neemuch and a 450 MW solar park in Shajapur.
Joshi said the solar projects had achieved some of the most competitive tariffs in the country, with the Neemuch Solar Park securing rates between Rs 2.14 and Rs 2.15 per unit, while the Shajapur Solar Park achieved tariffs ranging from Rs 2.33 to Rs 2.35 per unit.

Highlighting the importance of renewable energy infrastructure, the Union minister said generating solar power alone was not sufficient and stressed the need for battery storage technology to ensure grid stability during night hours and periods of increased demand.
He said energy storage solutions would play a key role in strengthening India’s renewable energy network and ensuring uninterrupted power supply.
