Udupi diocese to host 2nd diocesan meet marking National Doctors' Day on Jul 12

Udupi, Jul 6: The Health Commission of the diocese of Udupi will organise the 2nd Diocesan meet as part of the National Doctors' Day celebration on Sunday, July 12, at 10 am at Ave Maria Hall, Mother of Sorrows Church.

The programme will bring together doctors, healthcare professionals and members of the Catholic community to honour the dedicated service of medical professionals and strengthen collaboration in the healthcare sector.

U T Khader Fareed, Karnataka minister for Health and Family Welfare, and Dr H S Ballal, pro-chancellor of MAHE, Manipal, will attend as chief guests.

Guests of honour include Fr Denis D'Sa, PRO of the Udupi diocese; Dr Jacintha D'Souza, joint director, department of Health and Family Welfare Services, government of Karnataka; and Fr Stephen D'Souza, chancellor and coordinator of Pastoral Commissions, diocese of Udupi.

The programme will be presided over by Dr Leslie Clifford D'Souza, bishop of Udupi.

The event is being organised by the diocese of Udupi Health Commission under the guidance of director Hilda Cornelio, spiritual director Fr Charles Saldanha OFM Cap, and secretary Dr Ren Trevor Dias.

The organisers have invited doctors, healthcare workers and the faithful to participate in the celebration.
