Ladyhill School (ICSE) joyfully celebrates feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel

Mangaluru, Jul 16: Ladyhill School (ICSE) reverently celebrated the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, on July 14th at the Golden Jubilee Memorial Hall. Centered on the theme, 'Walking in Mary’s Footsteps, Growing in Faith and Virtues', the celebration was thoughtfully presented by the students of grades VI C and VII C.

Through prayerful reflections and meaningful presentations, the students highlighted the virtues of Mother Mary and inspired all to deepen their faith and emulate her example of humility, obedience, and trust in God. The celebration was a beautiful expression of devotion, gratitude, and community spirit.

The solemn celebration was graced by the esteemed presence of Sr Melissa AC, joint secretary, Sr Maria Kripa AC, principal, Sr Teena AC, administrator, Sr Ida Barboza AC, vice principal, teacher Lavita Correa, KG coordinator, Sr Marline AC and Sr Reema AC. The tiny tots of Ladyhill Kindergarten extended a warm and heartfelt welcome to the dignitaries, adding joy and innocence to the occasion and making the gathering truly special.

The programme began with a reverent prayer service and a melodious hymn, invoking God's blessings through the loving intercession of Mary, Mother of Carmel. A graceful welcome dance added charm and exuberance to the celebration, creating a lively and festive atmosphere.

The gathering was graciously welcomed by Yukthi J Amin and Karen Fiona Lasrado. Marking the occasion with warmth and reverence, principal Sr Therese Teena AC presented a sapling to the chief guest, Sr Melissa AC, principal of Mount Carmel Central School, Maryhill, Mangaluru. Adding a special touch of innocence and affection to the ceremony, the kindergarten boys warmly welcomed the dignitaries with roses, expressing their love, respect, and heartfelt hospitality, and making the welcome truly memorable.

The highlight of the celebration was the inspiring dance drama, 'In Mary’s Footsteps: Living the Carmelite Virtues'. Through meaningful narration, graceful movements, and heartfelt performances, the students vividly brought to life the virtues embodied by Mother Mary—humility, faith, obedience, purity, patience, charity, courage, and prayerfulness. The presentation beautifully conveyed Mary's unwavering trust in God and her spirit of loving service, inspiring the audience to embrace these values in their daily lives and grow as compassionate, faith-filled, and responsible individuals rooted in the Carmelite tradition.

Adding a touch of innocence and joy to the celebration, the tiny tots of Ladyhill Kindergarten captivated the audience with their lively dance to the uplifting hymn 'Goodness of God'. The celebration was further enriched by a heartfelt festal song in honour of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, through which the children lovingly conveyed their prayers, greetings, and best wishes to the distinguished guests and the entire Ladyhill family, making the occasion truly memorable and grace-filled.

Addressing the gathering, Sr Melissa AC delivered an inspiring message, recounting a World War I incident that highlighted the significance of the Brown Scapular as a symbol of Mother Mary's loving protection and guidance. Drawing from the dance drama, she encouraged the students to embody the Carmelite virtues of faith, humility, obedience, charity, courage, purity, patience, and prayerfulness in their daily lives.

Celebrating the spirit of excellence and achievement, teacher Rosely DCosta announced the names of the awardees, following which the dignitaries felicitated the students for their commendable accomplishments in academics, sports, and various inter-school competitions organized by the school and the ICSE Zonal level competitions.

Reflecting on the significance of the feast, principal Sr Teena AC expressed her sincere appreciation to the mentors and students of grades VI C and VII C for their dedicated efforts in organizing the celebration. She commended the students for their meaningful presentations and outstanding performances, which beautifully portrayed the virtues of Mother Mary. Encouraging everyone to follow Mary's example of faith, humility, love, and service, she urged the students to live these values in their daily lives. She concluded by extending her heartfelt feast greetings and blessings to the entire Ladyhill family.

The programme drew to a close with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mythili T Kotian and Shannan John Pinto. They expressed their sincere gratitude to the chief guest, dignitaries, teachers, students, and all those who contributed their time, effort, and support in making the celebration a meaningful and memorable occasion. Their words of appreciation reflected the spirit of gratitude and togetherness that marked the entire programme.

The programme was efficiently compered by Prayukth N Acharya, Ethel D'Souza, Vamshi G, Khush Naveen Kanchan, Shlok, Angeline, Aden Fernandes, and Abhijna G Shetty. With their confident stage presence, clear articulation, and seamless coordination, they guided the audience through the various segments of the programme, ensuring the smooth flow and success of the celebration.

The feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel concluded on a deeply prayerful and joyful note, leaving every heart inspired to walk in Mary's footsteps, grow in faith and virtue, and become living witnesses of God's love, peace, and compassion.
