Hyderabad, Jul 23: A head constable allegedly died by suicide after shooting himself with his service weapon at the Telangana Police Headquarters in Hyderabad on Thursday, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Swamy (40), a native of Nalgonda district, who was posted at the Director General of Police (DGP) office.
According to police, Swamy allegedly fired a single round from his service pistol inside the guard's washroom and died on the spot. Preliminary investigations suggest the incident occurred between 6 am and 7.40 am. His body was discovered by another constable who entered the washroom.

Police said the exact reason behind the alleged suicide is yet to be ascertained and is under investigation.
A handwritten note was reportedly found in a diary, in which Swamy is said to have requested that no blame be placed on his wife and children, describing them as "good people" and stating that he would look after them even after his death.
A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
