Thrissur, Jul 24: A tuition teacher was arrested for allegedly sexually harassing students at Choondal in Kerala’s Thrissur district, police said on Friday.

The accused was identified as Noushad, a resident of Choondal, who operated a tuition centre from his residence.

According to police, three students informed their parents on Thursday that the accused had allegedly misbehaved with them during tuition classes. The parents later confronted Noushad at the centre and approached the police.

Following the complaints, Kunnamkulam police recorded the statements of the students and registered three separate cases under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Police alleged that the accused had inappropriately touched the students with sexual intent. Noushad was subsequently arrested and will be produced before the court for remand proceedings.
