Bhatkal, Mar 24: Educators at Jamia Islamia were remembered and honoured for their continued efforts to make Jamia Islamia a pillar of strength as the celebrations for the 50th year of the educational institute concluded on the fourth and final day.

The closing session was hosted after Isha prayers. A large number of NRI Bhatkalis residing in Gulf made their way to Bhatkal for the four-day education convention. A special interaction session was hosted for hundreds of Bhatkalis.

Khalifa Mohammed Ghouse, general secretary, Khaleej council, said, “The education convention is an effort by Jamia Islamia to encourage students in universities to learn about Islam. We should face our challenges and design a curriculum where students have an orientation with the basics of Islam”.

Ruknuddin Abdul Kadir Basha, president, BMJ Dubai, said, “The love for Jamia stems from the love for Islam and Jamia Islamia will take the shape of an open-university in the years to come. Also, we should look at the Anjuman Group of Institutions as a role model institute which has included Islamic curriculum from primary classes to post-graduation”.

Pilloor Sadiq, general secretary, BMJ – Dammam, said, “The founders of Jamia Islamia are products of Anjuman and the contributions of graduates from Anjuman have made a vital contribution to bring Jamia to its peak. The number of NRI’s travelling to the convention reflects the importance of Jamia and the close attachment of people who live away from their home town”.

The final day of the education convention at Jamia Islamia, Bhatkal saw a record turnout as hundreds and thousands of people walked towards the campus soon after the Isha prayers.

Abdul Bari Nadvi, principal,Jamia Islamia, Bhatkal proposed the welcome note. He said, “The entire Bhatkal is here to be with us and I pray to Allah for the continued success of the institution and seek his blessings for Jamia.”

Mohammed Shafi Shabandri, Nazim, Jamia Islamia said, "We need atleast one child from every family to receive Islamic education at Jamia Islamia."

Moulana Abdullah Hasani, editor of Al Raed and a teacher at Jamia Islamia said, “We need to create a school system which protects the iman of young Muslims because the western system of education has eroded the religious values instilled by parents at an early age."

Moulana Salman Nadvi said, “The world is our journey to aakhirah and the punctuality of this world has been set by our creator. The one's who deny the signs of the creator will spend their entire life under the shade of disbelief. There is no middle-way in Islam. There is no buffer-zone. The world is an open examination where everyone has to make their choices and choose to either be a Muslim or a Non-Muslim. Living one life on both parallels is not permitted."

Moulana Ilyas Nadvi, convener of the education convention, addressing the gathering said, “Online education and distance education are the current trends in education. We need to develop educational courses for the online audience. Virtual classrooms are also a possibility to propagate. Schools and universities need to include short courses on Islam as part of their curriculum and studies. This does not require an approval from government bodies."

Moulana Khalid Ghazipuri Nadvi said, "There is a blessing in everything Allah bestows on us. We have to be patient to understand this blessing and know its real meaning."

Special mention was made to the volunteers from various sports clubs and youth organizations from across Bhatkal for the various arrangements.

Salam and Thanks from the bottem of the heart to Jamia Islamia Management & to all those who supported/worked for the success of this event. May Allah bless them all.

Islam is actually a code of life and contains all aspects of human knowledge that one can comprehend including art, science, law, politics, education, economics and much more all mentioned in the HOLY QURAN and from the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him).

Muslims should adhere Islam as a whole instead of partial application of Islam.
