Mangaluru: Prominent agriculturist, religious leader Varadaraja S Shetty passes away at 83

Mangaluru, Aug 6: Prominent agriculturist and community leader Thumbethodi Varadaraja S Shetty (83) of Peraramundabettuguthu passed away at his residence in Bakrubail on Thursday, August 6, following a brief age-related illness.

Having been employed across Mumbai, Mangaluru, and abroad for nearly 50 years, Shetty spent his retired life actively engaged as an agriculturist in Bakrubail. He was consistently involved in social and religious works and was known as a generous contributor to various charitable causes in the region.

He had been actively serving as the vice president of the Pathur Shree Suryeshwara and Bajiladi Shree Mahishamardini development committees for several years.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, daughters-in-law, four grandchildren, and a large circle of relatives and friends.
