Kasargod, Aug 6: Amid forecasts of heavy rainfall and an Orange Alert issued for the district, Kasargod District Collector Arjun Pandyan has announced a holiday for all educational institutions across the district on Friday, August 7, as a precautionary measure.
The order has been issued in view of the possibility of intense rain and related disruptions, with authorities prioritising the safety of students, teaching staff and other employees.
The holiday will apply to all educational institutions in Kasargod, including colleges, professional colleges, schools, Anganwadis, tuition centres, ICSE and CBSE schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas, madrasas and other religious educational institutions.

The decision comes as a preventive step following the heavy rainfall forecast and the orange warning issued for the region.
Exams and interviews to continue
Clarifying the impact of the holiday order, collector Arjun Pandyan said that there would be no changes to previously scheduled university examinations, public examinations or interviews.
All exams and interviews that were announced earlier will be conducted as per the existing timetable.
The district administration has urged residents to remain cautious during the period of heavy rainfall and follow official advisories. The holiday announcement is aimed at preventing risks to students and staff while ensuring that essential academic activities already scheduled are not affected.
