Bantwal, Aug 7: Six members of a family, including four children, escaped with minor injuries after the car they were travelling in overturned near Surikumeru on National Highway 75 on Thursday evening.
According to reports, the family was travelling from Mangaluru towards Uppinangady when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle near a Hindustan Petroleum fuel station at Surikumeru, causing the car to overturn.
All six occupants sustained minor injuries and escaped without any life-threatening injuries.
Locals alleged that the accident occurred due to the unscientific roadwork and poor road conditions on the stretch of the highway, claiming that the inadequate road layout caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
Further investigation is underway.
