Bantwal, Aug 7: The Bantwal Bar Association organized the 'Aatida Lese' programme at the association's hall in the Bantwal principal civil court premises on Friday, August 7.

Inaugurating the event, Bantwal senior civil and JMFC judge Anil Prakash M P emphasized the need for more such cultural programmes. He stated that these events play a significant role in raising awareness about local traditions and culture among the youth.

Reflecting on the significance of the season, he said that the month of Aati revives memories of a bygone lifestyle and culture. In the past, heavy and continuous monsoon rains confined people indoors, leading family members to engage in various traditional indoor games. He added that programmes like 'Aatida Lese' are essential to introduce the younger generation to the special traditional food items that were prepared and consumed during Aati to maintain good health.

Bantwal Bar Association president Richard Costa M presided over the function.

Bantwal principal civil and JMFC judge Rajendra Prasad K S, additional civil and JMFC judge Kumari Soundarya M, Karnataka High Court senior advocate and KSBC member P P Hegde, and Mangaluru Bar Association president Jagadish K Shenava were present as the chief guests.

During the event, Bantwal senior advocate Jayaram Rai spoke about the specialities and cultural significance of the Aati month.

Advocate Dayanand Rai welcomed the gathering, and Virendra proposed the vote of thanks. Ravindra Kukkaje and Deepak Peraje compered the programme.
