Moodbidri: Child Dies After Falling into Manure Pit

Moodbidri, Mar 25: A two-and-a-half-year-old child died after accidently falling into a manure pit located nearby his house on Saturday March 24, afternoon near Alangar Bannadka Bangera hill, here.

The victim, Suraj, is the only son of Vishwanath and Shalini who run a hotel in Mangalore.

The incident took place when Suraj was playing in his neighbour’s house and went wandering behind another boy who went to clean his plate. Suraj then accidentally slipped and fell into the pit. The family members who went in search of the missing child found his sandals floating in the pit. The child was immediately removed from the pit and rushed to a nearby hospital but he died on the way.

Ramesh, police sub-inspector visited the spot and registered a case.
