Mangalore, Mar 26: About 150 protestors took out a 12-km rally from Panjimogeru to the Mangalore city police commissioner’s office to question the authorities with regard to the delayed investigation in a double murder case on Monday March 26. The protest was organized by the DYFI.
 
The heinous murder of mother-daughter duo Razia and Fathima on June 28, 2011 had shocked the city, and a series of protests had followed demanding a CBI enquiry.

DYFI district president Muneer Katipalla, addressing the gathering, said that the state government and the police department in the district have completely failed to trace the culprits in this murder case. He said that the investigation has now been completely halted.

Katipalla demanded a CBI enquiry initiative by the police department and said the failure of the same may lead to an indefinite protest in front of the police commissioner’s office.
 
DYFI secretary Dayanand Shetty, CITU secretary Vasanth Achari, SFI president Charan Panjimogeru, and Janavadi Mahila Sanghatane leader Bharathi Bolar were present.
 
In a reply given by the police commissioner to the protestors, he said that after discussions are held with the DGP, the investigation could be handed over to the top level enquiry wing.
