Panaji, Aug 21: Colva Police have arrested three persons after raiding an alleged online gambling operation being run from a rented premises in 3rd Ward, Colva.
The arrested persons have been identified as 24-year-old Jitendrasinh Chauhan, 25-year-old Narendrasinh Rathod and 33-year-old Rahul Patel.
South Goa Superintendent of Police Tikam Singh Verma said police received information that online gaming and betting activities were being conducted from the rented premises.

“Based on this, Colva Police conducted a raid, arrested three individuals and seized 11 laptops and 30 mobile phones. The total estimated value of the seized assets is around Rs 13 lakh. No cash was recovered during the raid,” Verma said.
According to police, the accused allegedly accepted online bets and operated computer-based games through an online application.
Explaining how the alleged betting operation functioned, Verma said the application could be accessed remotely, allowing users to play games and place bets online.
Verma said the operation had only recently started. Investigators are questioning the accused to establish how long it had been functioning and gather further details about its activities.
“We have briefed our staff on all these aspects and made it clear that such illegal activities will not be tolerated anywhere. Our staff is vigilant, and if any such activity comes to light, we will immediately register a case and complete the legal formalities,” he said.
