Hyderabad, Aug 22: Telugu cinema's iconic actor Chiranjeevi turned 71 on Saturday, marking another milestone in a career spanning more than four decades. On his birthday, one of his messages on the importance of staying focused, working hard and persevering through challenges has once again come into the spotlight.
Speaking at the American Progressive Telugu Association's (APTA) Global Business Conference, Katalyst, in Hyderabad on January 5, 2025, Chiranjeevi shared lessons from his personal journey with budding entrepreneurs.
“If we stay focused on our goals, work hard and persevere, success will inevitably follow,” he said.

Chiranjeevi's message centred on having a clear goal, putting in consistent effort and continuing despite setbacks. His own journey reflects these principles, as he spoke about the discipline he developed during his time with the National Cadet Corps before eventually pursuing acting as a career.
The actor also recalled facing rejection and negativity during the early stages of his career. Rather than allowing those experiences to discourage him, he said they became part of his journey and eventually opened the way to new opportunities.
In an era increasingly focused on quick results and instant success, Chiranjeevi's message serves as a reminder that meaningful achievements often require patience and sustained effort. His emphasis on focus, discipline and perseverance extends beyond acting to entrepreneurship, professional careers, creative pursuits and personal goals.
Born Konidela Sivasankara Varaprasad on August 22, 1955, Chiranjeevi is an Indian actor, philanthropist and former politician known predominantly for his work in Telugu cinema. Fondly known as 'Mega Star', he has built a career spanning more than four decades.
Chiranjeevi was conferred the Padma Bhushan in 2006 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2024. He also received the Indian Film Personality of the Year Award at the International Film Festival of India in 2022.
Apart from cinema, Chiranjeevi served as a Rajya Sabha member and later as Union Minister of State for Tourism.
As he celebrates his 71st birthday, his journey from an aspiring actor facing early setbacks to one of Telugu cinema's most recognised stars continues to reinforce his message that focus, hard work and perseverance can help overcome challenges.
