Ranchi, Aug 24: Jharkhand student leader Devendra Nath Mahto will launch a campaign for reforms in the state's recruitment system on Monday under the slogan “24 Districts, 24 Resolutions, One Voice”.

Mahto announced the initiative in a post on X, saying the campaign would focus on raising concerns related to the recruitment system and seeking greater transparency and accountability.

The second phase of the “JPSC-JSSC Corruption-Free Recruitment Campaign” will begin from Nemra, the ancestral village of former Jharkhand chief minister Shibu Soren in Ramgarh district.

The campaign, aimed at demanding a transparent, fair and corruption-free recruitment system in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC), will be launched from Lukaiya Tand in Nemra.

According to Mahto, the “Recruitment System Reform Yatra” will be inaugurated in accordance with Jharkhand's traditional customs and practices.

The launch programme will include traditional rituals in the presence of senior pahans, singing of the national anthem to the beats of the madar, paying tribute to prominent leaders and planting a sal sapling.

Mahto said the yatra would seek to create awareness and build public support among job aspirants and young people across the state on issues of transparency, accountability and fairness in recruitment.

The yatra will begin in Ramgarh and pass through Hazaribagh, Chatra, Koderma, Giridih, Deoghar, Dumka, Godda, Sahebganj, Pakur, Jamtara, Dhanbad, Bokaro, East Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharsawan, West Singhbhum, Khunti, Simdega, Gumla, Latehar, Palamu, Garhwa and Ranchi.

Mahto said the campaign would highlight the concerns of recruitment aspirants and press for reforms in the examination and selection processes conducted by the JPSC and JSSC.
