Kota, Aug 26: A 20-year-old student preparing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) was found dead at a rented flat in Rajasthan's Kota district, police said.
The deceased, identified as Khushbu Patel, was found unresponsive at the flat in the Kunhadi area, where she had been living with her younger sister while preparing for competitive examinations.
According to Kota police, Khushbu was a native of Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh and had moved to Kota in 2023 along with her younger sister, Khushi, to pursue their studies.

While Khushbu was preparing for NEET, her younger sister was preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). The sisters had been living together and regularly attending coaching classes. They reportedly shifted to a rented flat in the Landmark City area in July this year.
The incident came to light after Khushi returned to the flat following her coaching class. When Khushbu did not respond despite repeated knocks on the door, her sister entered the room and found her unresponsive.
Khushi immediately sought help and informed the police. Personnel from the Kunhadi police station reached the spot and took Khushbu to MBS Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
Police have kept the body in the hospital mortuary and informed the family in Chhatarpur. Her relatives are expected to reach Kota soon.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted after the arrival of the family.
Police said the exact circumstances surrounding the death have not yet been established. Investigators are examining the scene and gathering information to determine what led to the incident.
Khushbu's younger sister and other people in the vicinity are also being questioned as part of the investigation. The cause of death is expected to be established following the post-mortem examination and further inquiry.
