New Delhi, Sep 19: India has been ranked first for business climate among 41 global markets in the Global Business Climate Survey 2026 conducted by the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in India, according to the latest survey findings.

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal shared the finding on social media, saying India's business climate was setting a “gold standard” for stability, growth and ease of doing business amid global turbulence.

The 2026 edition of the survey covers 41 markets and provides insights into Swedish companies' experiences and perceptions of doing business internationally. It compares economic performance, business outlook and operating conditions across key Swedish export markets.

The survey also examines challenges faced by Swedish companies and identifies opportunities for firms considering entry into new markets or expansion of existing operations.

Business Sweden said Swedish companies operating in India continue to report strong financial performance and high growth expectations, with a clear majority planning to increase investments in the coming year. The India-specific survey received responses from 213 Swedish companies operating in the country.

The survey comes amid continued global geopolitical and economic uncertainty, with the 2026 global edition covering a record 41 markets.
