Kasargod: Manjeshwar SI, Policemen Assault Class X Student

Kasargod, Mar 30: The sub-inspector of a suburban police station has been accused of assaulting a student who had gone to buy footwear from a shop.

The student has been identified as 17-year-old B M Shahir, son of Mehmood, Hosangady and a Class X student of Deli Saadiya English Medium High School.

Shahir was admitted to district General Hospital for treatment of wounds on his face and feet. Manjeshwar sub-inspector and jeep driver forcibly took Shahir when he arrived at the shop looking for its owner, Shahir said in his complaint.

Meanwhile, Shahir complained that he was kept in a cell along with the shopkeeper and the sub-inspector and policemen allegedly assaulted him.

The policemen also allegedly snatched his mobile, damaged it, and returned it before releasing him after two hours. The reason for the assault was not immediately known.

    Over all Kerala police are arrogant and their higher ups are not bothered about such unfriendly attitude they show towards to society.
    The common men should pull the Home Minister and force him to bring a change in policing system and their good relations with the Hafta-offering political influenced local criminals.
