Ponda, Sep 23: At least four people, including three women, were injured in two separate road accidents on the outskirts of Ponda town on Tuesday evening.
The first accident occurred around 6.30 pm when a passenger bus travelling from Margao to Ponda crashed into a roadside electricity pole near the Tata Motors showroom at Dhavali.
Three passengers, including two women, sustained injuries in the accident. They were identified as Mohammad Rafik Muzawar (27) of Margao, Kumkum Harilal Choudhari (21) of Borim and Jyoti Savaikar (54) of Dhavali.
All three injured persons were shifted to the Ponda Sub-District Hospital for treatment.
In the second incident, an eight-year-old girl, Alfa Nuri, was hit by a speeding scooter while she was walking with her mother near Naga Masjid in Ponda.
The girl was also taken to the Ponda Sub-District Hospital for medical treatment.
Police were in the process of registering cases in connection with the two motor vehicle accidents late Tuesday evening.
