Kadaba, Sep 26: A 42-year-old motorcyclist was killed after a black Thar allegedly rammed into his bike from behind on the Kadaba–Uppinangady Main Road at Achari Kotya in Alankaru village here on the night of September 25. The Thar driver allegedly fled the scene without stopping after the accident.
According to the complaint lodged by Ranjith B, 23, a resident of Alankaru village, Kadaba, the incident took place when Lokesh Nadthila, 42, a resident of Alankaru, Kadaba, was travelling towards Achari Kotya from Alankaru town on his motorcycle bearing registration number KA-21-Y-5006.
At Achari Kotya, a black-coloured Thar bearing registration number KA-21-MB-0233, allegedly driven in a rash and negligent manner, approached from behind and collided with Lokesh’s motorcycle.
Due to the impact, Lokesh fell onto the road along with his motorcycle and sustained serious injuries. However, instead of stopping at the spot, the accused driver allegedly drove away from the scene in the Thar.
The complainant, Ranjith B, along with another local resident, rushed the injured Lokesh to hospital. However, after examining him, doctors reportedly informed them that he had died.
Following the incident, Kadaba police registered a case under Crime No. 112/2026 under Sections 281 and 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 134(a) and (b) of the Indian Motor Vehicles Act.
Police are investigating the incident and the alleged hit-and-run.
