Chennai, Oct 3: The makers of director Bakkiyaraj Kannan's much-awaited action thriller *Benz*, starring Raghava Lawrence in the lead, have announced that the film's fourth shooting schedule has commenced.

Passion Studios, one of the production houses backing the film, announced the update on its social media platforms, saying, "Here’s the update you’ve been waiting on. #Benz Fourth Schedule Begins."

The production house also shared behind-the-scenes pictures from the sets.

The film has generated considerable interest as actor Nivin Pauly is set to appear in two roles, including that of the antagonist.

Nivin had hinted at the completion of the film's third schedule in November last year. Sharing a series of pictures of himself from the film on social media, he wrote, "Darkness Loading......?." He tagged the cast and crew and added the hashtags "#ScheduleWrap #BenzMovie #Walter".

Ace filmmaker Lokesh Kanakaraj, who is among the producers of the film, had confirmed in July last year that the second schedule had been completed and expressed hope that the film would be wrapped up within another three to four months.

In a video interview with a media house, Lokesh, who is producing the film along with Sudhan Sundaram and Jagadish Palanisamy, said, "Our next film is Benz. They have finished the second schedule if I am not wrong. Two schedules are done. Philo is the editor. I will check with him as to how the film is looking. He will give me some updates. Probably, they will finish it in another three or four months. We have other films in the pipeline."

A major reason for the buzz around *Benz* is Nivin Pauly's portrayal of a villain for the first time.

Introducing Nivin's character, director Bakkiyaraj Kannan wrote on X, "Soft boy? That was yesterday. Nivin Pauly 2.0—our certified Baddie, Breaking hearts and Breaking rules & Breaking bad. Meet #Walter, @nivinofficial."

The character promo opens with sounds from a room suggesting that someone is being brutally beaten. Nivin then emerges wearing several gold ornaments and carrying a huge metal hammer apparently dripping with blood. He smiles, revealing golden teeth.

Walter turns to another character, also played by Nivin Pauly, and asks the name of a person. The other character, who is seen eating and appears naive and uneducated, initially says 'Bens' before correcting himself to 'Benz'.

The promo then reveals that the antagonist's name is Walter. He says, "When a head inside a helmet itself is cut like the head of a goat, who..." before laughing suggestively.

The character promo ends with Walter describing himself: "A dirty mind, a beautiful heart deadly combination. Love you Walter!"

Written and directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan, *Benz* has music by young composer Sai Abhyankkar. Goutham George is the cinematographer, while Philomin Raj is the editor. Jacki has handled the art direction and Pradeep Boopathi is the creative producer.
