Bangalore: Triple Ride - Two Minor Boys Dead, One Critical

Bangalore, Apr 1 (DHNS): Two boys were killed and another seriously injured when the scooter they were riding rammed into a BMTC bus near Ullala lake near Tavarekere in the City on Saturday.

Suhas, 16, and Subhashaiah, 13, are the dead. Kusheshaiah, 16, who sustained head injury, is being treated at a hospital.

Suhas and Kusheshaiah, classmates at the Vani School, Machohalli, had gone to pick up Subhashaiah, brother of Kusheshaiah on Saturday, the last day of his examination.

They were returning home when the accident occurred. Subhashaiah was a Class VI student, at Amrutanandamayi School.

Suhas was riding his mother’s scooter with his friends on the pillion when an oncoming BMTC bus took a left turn at a crossing. The speeding lads lost control of the their vehicle and rammed into the bus. Suhas and Subhashaiah died on the spot.

The families of the victims were numbed by the tragic accident. The parents of Kusheshaiah and Subhashaiah were inconsolable with one son dead and another in a critical condition.

Their father Veerabhadraiah, is the principal of ITI college, Jagalur and mother Malathi is a senior lecturer at Saptagiri Engineering College.

Suhas’s father, Srinivasamurthy, who is a superintendent in the Education department, told Deccan Herald that the two-wheeler was being used by his wife, Rukmini a housewife.

He said his son had a fad for the two wheeler and was adamant. Although they tried to dissuade him from using the vehicle, he didn’t obey and eventually lost his life, recalled Srinivasamurthy in tears.

The Tavarekere Police have registered a case and arrested the BMTC bus driver Devanna. But police sources say that the young boys were wrong on four counts – the rider of the two-wheeler had no licence and was a minor.

He was not wearing a helmet. They were riding triples and were riding on the wrong side of the road and rammed into the BMTC bus, when the bus was taking a left turn at a T-junction.

why arrest the driver of the bus when the fault is with some one else, it would be better to arrest the parents, atleast then other parents would refrain from giving the keys to the so called adament children

This is what happens when children don't obey their parents. Three people go on a bike without helmets and this is illegal. I have seen during my last trip to India people riding bikes with three or more and without helmets and most of them without a licence. I have seen cops stopping these guys but they are released after some bribe is given. The cops are to be blamed for this. Two precious lives lost and one is fighting for life. Now the BMTC driver will face charges for no reason. The parents should be held responsible for this. THIS IS A LESSON FOR ALL PARENTS WHO ALLOW YOUNGSTERS TO DRIVE AND RIDE WHO ARE UNDERAGE AND NO LICENCE.

Tragic end.. But will parents of teenagers ever learn the lessons? I have seen so many parents encouraging their kids even at the age of 8 or 9 to ride a two wheeler and take great pride in it! It is the parents who give the key of the vehicles, It is the parents who teach their children to break the law!! They don't care for the lives of the kids... what when the kids go and kill some innocent person on the street. I curse these parents who have no control over their kids....

    @ Edward R. Monteiro.
In India police don't look at who is responsible for whose death. If a pedestrian killed by cycle rider, police arrest cycle rider, if a cyclist killed by the scooter, then they arrest scooter rider, scooter rider killed by a auto rickshaw, auto driver will be arrested. If auto driver killed by the car, then the car driver will be arrested and car driver dies bus driver will be arrested and so on.

It is reported here that the Police have registered a case arrested INNOCENT BMTC Bus Driver, when they know fully well that the minor boys were fully responsible on FOUR COUNTS along with their IRRESPONSIBLE PARENTS for causing this accident. In fact, the vehicle owner, should be arrested and put behind the bars for such irresponsible action. Will the Police release the innocent Bus Driver and register case against erring vehicle Owner? ? ? .......? ...? Why an innocent man(Bus Driver) should suffer on account of fault of these irresponsible Boys and their Parents? Strange indeed is the logic of the Police Department. After all, this is the justice system in Idia!!!......Mera Bharath Mahan Hei. Jai HIND.

SAD NEWS. INNOCENT CHILDRENS LOST THEIR PRECIOUS LIFE.

    COPMLETE NEGLIGENCE BY THE PARENTS.

PARENTS SHOULD NOT GIVE VEHICLES TO A MINOR FOR RIDING .

EDUCATE MINORS ABOUT CONSEQUENCES OF ANY MISHAPPENINGS LIKE ABOVE.

IN THIS INCIDENT BUS DRIVER IS A INNOCENT .

THE ABOVE INCIDNET CLEARLY SHOWS THAT PARENTS HAVE NO CONTROL ON THEIR CHILDRENS.
