Mangalore, Apr 2: The Sports and Fitness Training Federation of India ® (Member of SAARC Confederation for Physiotherapy) in association with Dr M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy, here is conducting a certified course for ten days on the topic 'Advanced integrated manual therapy techniques for the extremities and spine” by Dr Chandra Iyer, MPT, SRP (UK).
The inaugural function for the same was held on Monday April 2 at 9.30 am at Dr M V Shetty College seminar hall.
The welcome address was given by Dr Kamath Sahana Srinivas, in-charge principal, Dr M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy. In her speech she stated that Dr M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy is the only college to provide students with a number of workshops and seminar which help the students in increasing the knowledge and credibility.
The guest of honour Dr Mohammad Suhail, general secretary, advised the students on the ethics of physiotherapists towards patients and to study hard for being successful in life. He added that apart from being a good physiotherapist it is also important to be good human being.
Dr Chandra Iyer, the resource person for the workshop stated that she is highly privileged to impart the knowledge to the students on manual therapy. In her address she mentioned the importance of the topic in the field of orthopaedic and sports and the importance of such workshop to spread knowledge.
Dr U T Ifthikar Ali, MPT PhD, president SFTFI, thanked the resource person, chief guest, student delegates and the organizing committee.
