Mangalore, Apr 2: Minor tension prevailed at Kuttar, Ullal near here on Monday April 2 after a man was caught with several bags of human body parts.

The incident occured at a cemetry in Munnur, Kuttar. People who spotted the man suspected him carrying foetuses in the bags. However, their apprehensions were soon laid to rest when the truth was out.

The accused, Balakrishna, an attendent at Nandikur lab in Balmatta here, was taking 10-15 plastic bags of surgically removed internal body parts for disposal at the cemetry. But people who spotted Balakrishna with the human organs suspected foul play and questioned his intentions.

When Ullal police arrived and quizzed him, it turned out that he was also an employee at a private hospital in the city and had brought the body parts for disposal. Police told Daijiworld that no foetus was found.

However, body parts and other hospital wastes are not supposed to be buried or burnt in cemetries, and hence investigation is on.
