Holy Cross Family Ministries to host 'Global Rosary for Peace' on Oct 22

Media Release

Bengaluru, Oct 20: On October 22, the Feast of St John Paul II, Catholics from around the world will pray the Rosary together for global peace.

Fr Patrick Peyton CSC, founder of Holy Cross Family Ministries, a worldwide movement, famously said, "A world at prayer is a world at peace." Following up on its founder's vision, Holy Cross Family Ministries is coordinating this effort globally. In India, the Global Rosary will be held at 7.30 pm on October 22.

A video depicting the Rosary being prayed in different languages from around the world will premiere on YouTube at 7.30 pm IST. Holy Cross Family Ministries has called on all Catholics to pray the Rosary, wherever they happen to be at 7.30 pm on October 22, whether alone, or with their family, friends, or neighbours.

"Let us join our voices, our intentions, and our prayers for a society devoid of destructive violence and wars. The world today needs peace. Let us do what we can by using the most valuable tool given by our faith: prayer," the ministry shared in a statement.

The prayer initiative is also a response to Pope Leo XIV's call for Catholics to pray the Rosary for peace, seeking to create a moment of prayer that crosses geographical and cultural boundaries. Lacs of Catholics have already registered, pledging to pray the Rosary on October 22.
