New Delhi, Oct 22: Delhi Police have reportedly denied permission for Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh’s scheduled concert at Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium on October 30, citing security concerns, according to ANI.

The decision has cast uncertainty over the Delhi leg of Dosanjh’s Aura India Tour, with police reportedly withholding clearance after reviewing the organisers’ request.

According to reporter, a letter issued by the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), South Delhi, cited threat-related inputs, security requirements during the festive season and other law and order concerns as reasons for rejecting the request.

Police have not publicly disclosed details of the specific security concerns. It also remains unclear whether the organisers will seek fresh permission, reschedule the concert or explore an alternative venue.

The development comes as fans await the singer’s performance in the national capital. Dosanjh has built a strong following in India and overseas through his music and energetic live performances.

He has performed at prominent international venues, including Madison Square Garden in New York and Wembley Stadium in London. He also became the first Punjabi artiste to headline and sell out Wembley Stadium, marking a milestone for Punjabi music on the international stage.
